Overview of The Cabin

Notes from our guests

If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily lives, Castlebrook Cabin is the answer. Located in a secluded canyon, yet only a short drive to Avila Beach or San Luis Obispo, it's the perfect get away for a quiet time. Larry is an excellent host and is available to answer any questions you may have. If you're headed for the Central Coast, we would definitely recommend planning a stay at Castlebrook Cabin.

What an amazing cabin! This weekend retreat is exactly as advertised. The location is quiet and secluded, and the cabin is surrounded by nature which makes for such a relaxed weekend getaway. The cabin is so thoughtfully built, with everything you really need for included. The kitchen is well stocked, the bathroom has the essentials, all the bedding, and extra blankets included. The front and back porch are the perfect spaces for yoga or enjoying a glass of wine and the sunset. Larry is very welcoming and communicative and will make himself available for any questions or to provide recommendations. I cannot wait to come back!

This was the absolute best experience I’ve had with Airbnb. The directions were perfect and there was even a sign with our names on it to lead us into the private drive to our cabin. Larry was in constant contact with us during our trip up from San Diego and even inquired what temperature we would like the cabin. My friend and I planned a girls’ motorcycle trip and it was quite chilly arriving in the evening but the cabin was warm and inviting! The little fireplace keeps the cabin very cozy. We even had chocolates on our pillows and the fridge was stocked with water. In the morning we made coffee with the many different choices that were supplied and sat on the back patio to listen to the creek and all the birds. There is an amazing amount of wildlife yet it is so quiet and peaceful. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and the entire property is perfect and manicured. There are local guidebooks with info for the explorers. The tv is Roku so you can watch nearly anything and we relaxed and caught up on shows in the evening. The bed! I cannot go on enough about the bed, it is so comfortable. I haven’t slept that soundly in a long time! There are lots of pillows, the linens and comforters are very soft and the entire bed has a heated pad on it with dual controls. After being on our motorcycles all day we both looked forward to resting our weary muscles on the full-body heat. It was like a spa treatment! We will definitely return as soon as we can so we can explore more of the area and enjoy another relaxing weekend in the cabin. Thank you, Larry and Linda! Absolutely amazing!

This is a very thoughtful, cozy cabin tucked away in See Canyon. Larry and his family put in a lot of work and craftsmanship into this space to make it feel welcoming. The cabin kind of has a cedar tree smell which was nice. The garden is beautiful and it's a great spot for bird watching. Very convenient spot where you're close to the beach and the main streets in SLO. We're looking forward to coming back!

The cabin is charming, clean and comfortable. The location was great for us and it was nice to unwind in the evenings. The kitchen space is well appointed and the water pressure was amazing. We would recommend a stay for sure.

Castlebrook and its hosts are phenomenal. This was our favorite AirBnB experience of all time. The cabin is exquisite - really it's a piece of art. Larry and family are super gracious and wonderful hosts. The kids loved the bunks and everything else. We loved the quiet, the authenticity, and the life instilled within the cabin's being. Our favorite of all time.

Larry's cabin was absolutely magical and the pictures here don't do justice to how pretty, clean and pristine it is. I booked this cabin after reading the wonderful reviews here and our stay more than lived up to all the expectations. Larry was very accessible on text/phone from the time we booked our stay. He sent instructions on how to get to the cabin and was there to greet us when we arrived.

The location is incredible - it feels remote, secluded and yet you're only 10 mins away from all the attractions on the Central Coast. We went to Avila Beach, Avila Barn, Pismo Beach and made multiple trips to downtown SLO - everything was within a 20 min driving distance.

Cabin is well-stocked with everything you need - we cooked daily in the kitchen which was well-stocked with very clean pots, pans and utensils. The well-stocked refrigerator with water and the coffee/tea provided was a nice touch which definitely made it easy to settle in. Our kids loved the little room with the bunk beds and the outdoor shower (which has been newly built!). Everything at the cabin was perfect and we loved that it was really clean and sanitized.

The outdoors are well-maintained and just as beautiful. The cabin is fenced in - so we didn't have to worry as our kids wandered around the cabin and explored the grounds.

We'll be highly recommending this cabin to our friends and family and would love to return ourselves as well.

The pictures do not do justice to this remarkable place. The cabin is made by hand and is solidly built. Not a creaky board present! It has beauty and charm and the kids loved the bunk beds (warning not appropriate for very young children, but always use common sense with bunk beds). I loved the "sleeping porch," the screened in back porch with the sound of a bubbling spring and hummingbirds. The grounds were lovely, we saw deer, turkeys, and foxes. But this place is thoroughly modern too!
