This place is so special! From the drive up See Canyon under the canopy of oaks to meeting Larry and Linda, to walking into the magical space, and onto the screened in porch overlooking the waterfall - it was more than perfect. I told my husband as we drove down the hill for dinner that it felt like meditation just being in the cabin. Larry and Linda have thought of absolutely everything! There was everything we needed and more. So, needless to say, we are big fans of Castlebrook Cabin and can't wait until we return.

Castlebrook Cabin is such a peaceful, special place to visit. We (me, husband, 9yo daughter) were in the area visiting family during a particularly rainy spell. What a lovely place to feel cozy and curl up with a book and listen to the rain on the roof. We also loved sitting on both porches and watching for hummingbirds. Every nook and cranny of the place, inside and out, feels thoughtful and loved. You can feel the generosity and creativity with which Larry & Linda offer up this beautiful and private corner of their property, from the way Larry greeted and showed us around on arrival, to Linda's delicious cookies, to the unique tree branch hooks in the bathroom, to the swirls in the wood the cabin was built with by their family. We also had everything we needed there, felt at home, and slept well in the comfortable bed. Our daughter loved having her own kid room with bunkbeds. In a culture bent on standardization, efficiency, distraction--Castlebrook provides a nourishing respite.

Castlebrook Cabin was our 2025 Christmas gift to one another and it couldn't have been a better present!
Larry and Linda are the nicest hosts.
The cottage was absolutely darling and decorated up so cute for Christmas. The setting was gorgeous-so peaceful with nature all around. The waterfall was flowing at full strength due to the recent rains. Larry and Linda are so sweet to share this magical cabin with others.
After only a few days on this property, we have so many memories that will last a lifetime!

Our stay at Larry's cabin was so wonderful, every detail of the house was beautiful and well attention paid. Larry and his wife will meet your family upon checkin and give an overview of everything inside. I was so impressed by how thoughtful every feature was inside, such a calming spot for our family's weekend getaway. Bunk beds were perfect for the kids, and everything so cozy and relaxing.

Our stay at this cabin was absolutely exceptional! It felt like stepping into a storybook, completely peaceful and secluded from the outside world. The true magic, however, was the incredible array of wildlife right outside our door. We enjoyed our mornings with hummingbirds zipping by the window, watched deer gracefully tiptoe through the clearing, and even saw a fox playing nearby. Hearing the calls of wild turkeys made the experience feel even more authentic and immersive. If you need a place to disconnect and recharge amidst nature's wonders, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

This cabin was a lovely little getaway for a few nights. I felt safe letting my 7 year-old son run around and explore the surrounding area. We loved opening the back windows and enjoying the sound of the creek and sitting on the front patio in the evening golden hour around sunset. The cabin is clearly built and furnished with love and well cared for, along with care for the guests.

Natural elegance welcomes you to unplug to recharge.. While you will find all the modern-day conveniences here, nature invites you to retreat and connect.
Lush towels, a plush mattress, and comforters provide comfort during your stay. A gas stove provides cozy warmth through the cooler months, and the screened back porch, overlooking the creek waterfall, allows for plenty of airflow during summer.
A large, private outdoor shower awaits you following a hike or day at the beach.
Location
See Canyon is the orchard of San Luis Obispo County. Known for apple orchards and fruit farms, the canyon offers lush rural vegetation while close to coastal towns and San Luis Obispo. Three miles from Avila Beach, locals call the canyon the sunshine pocket of the coast.
Located within a private gate, on a private driveway, you'll be surrounded by trees and even some wildlife. A private garden and lit courtyard, outside your front door.
